Curriculum Vitae
During my professional teaching career, I have taught Spanish at the University of Rhode Island, a wide variety of English classes and Art History at one of Mexico's leading Educational Institutes. as well as taught American Literature and Translation IV at the University of Sonora, Mexico. In addition to my regular teaching duties, I have also presented materials at several TOESL conferences in the US and Mexico as well as designed and taught an on-line English course based on Collaborative Reading Groups.
Using my Professional Translation experience for a publication firm, I was also able to help coordinate the University of Sonora's Student Translation service, and in a coordinated effort between his students and Surfrider Foundation, I initiated and oversaw a Spanish Translation Project as well as provided free translations for the Surfrider Costa Rica, for which I earned a Volunteer Award from the National Surfrider Foundation.
Since moving to Japan, I have taught basic and conversational English in several small schools, university students at Nihon University and Hosei Univrsity, as well as Business English at some of Japans leading compamies, including Sanofi-Aventis and Dentsu. Currently, in addition to regular business and private classes, I teach at Kaplan Japan Aoyama and Ginza centers, where I teach TOEFL, TOEIC and GRE AWA writing, amongst other classes.
